Desbordada
Desbordada is the project and workshop of artist Elena Martínez Bolio. It is an interdisciplinary and creative space where the warp and weft break with convention to pay homage to both traditional knowledge and contemporary expression. It is a project that creates new and subversive work, where the individual and the community collaborate. An open, ongoing, feminine, and unique vision. Desbordada is at once a space for exhibition, work, creation, workshops, and meditation. A space with roots, yet one that travels.
Elena Martínez Bolio uses embroidery as her primary creative tool, crafting unique pieces that blend permanence and presence. Every stitch, every thread, is full of meaning and connections, from the simplest to the most complex. Yet Desbordada is also a constantly evolving project that defies categorization and expands into other spaces and possibilities.
The brand identity design for Desbordada reflects this vitality, which has deep roots and powerful traces, anchored in a warm and wise hand—yet one that cannot be permanently fixed. The embroidery line serves as the foundation for this design, reflecting the brand’s artisanal and innovative values. The use of patterns, repetitions, and syncopated rhythms reflects the brand’s diversity and versatility, as well as its highly creative essence. The use of textures frames the strong materiality of the experience within the identity, which is reflected in the objects and pieces that are created.
“Desbordada” is a free yet rigorous design—firm yet playful, vulnerable yet courageous. It combines the sum of our pasts with the open search for new futures within a pattern that continues to infinity, connecting us to our human essence.
