Alejandro Franco / SLKTR
Alejandro Franco is one of the most important music journalists in Latin America. Throughout his career he has interviewed well known musicians such as lead Singer of The Cure, Robert Smith, Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys, Gustavo Cerati from Soda Stereo or Andy Fletcher from Depeche Mode. He has collaborated with W Radio, Telehit, Rolling Stone magazine and Sony Entertainment Television. Alejandro is also founder and director of WARP Magazine the leading magazine in music and trends in the Mexican market.
He has covered some of the most important music festivals in the world like the Love Parade in Berlin and Coachella in California; he also directed a documentary about Glastonbury Festival in England.
His stage name is SLKTR and beneath it he creates eclectic DJ sets, which are audience related and more fun, whereas the fancier, precise and avant-garde sets are played and mixed using his real name Alejandro Franco.
Inspired by the personality and Alejandro’s beliefs, we designed a monogram with his initials this with the idea to transmit authority and elegance, we picked a contemporary and serious Font. The shape of the monogram allows its use in different formats.
For SLKTR we designed a logo reminiscent to his early years in the radio with a typography inspired by the informatic architecture of 8bits in reference to the software that is used to select music in most radio stations around the world.
