For the Mayans, medicine was a way to recover lost balance. Wise students, they discovered the Lady of the Honey, the Mayan bee, in the depths of the jungle. This is a stingless bee, subtle and delicate, that grants the most profound gem to those who are worthy of it: the sacred honey that is medicine, gift, and delicacy.
The tradition of the sacred honey still survives today between communities of X’mens and wise people who continue the craft of Mayan honey. We now have the fortune to introduce this craft and tradition to the whole world, a unique gift from this Yucatecan land.
Miel Sagrada Maya, by Beecheii, is a brand conscious of value of this legacy and the responsibility it entails. It is a minimal, clear, and honest brand, like the honey it represents. The color palette is inspired by nature itself, lively green like the jungle the Mayan bees call home, and warm gold like its honey. These colors, the colors of earth, provide the perfect frame for a direct and deep design, one that pays homage to the value of those things that are natural, direct, simple. The design uses organic lines that give themselves to the joy of color and memory, an aesthetic combination that empowers pollen and touch, that invigorates skin. A design made by hand for other hands, like the heritage that preserved the craft of the sacred honey.
Miel Sagrada Maya is our loving and respectful homage to nature, land and culture. It is our way to carry on our traditions, to share and multiply the treasure that was bestowed upon us with those who, knowingly or not, are searching for things that are good, healthy, and sacred.
